Vintage ceramic bust, repainted Mary Statuary. One of a kind.
When I acquire these I usually have an idea instantly. But I let them sit for a while. Letting color combinations simmer, and puzzling out the decorations. This one remained bluish and has lots of iridescence in the colors and patterns. It’s a good idea to clean these gently with a damp cloth. They don’t hold up to water and scrubbing. The surface is ephemeral. I use my Mary vases that I have kept for holding things like pencils or brushes rather than water and flowers. They’re pretty utilitarian ladies.
